More than a year after the launch of Huawei Pay in China, the service might expand to Europe as well. The manufacturer filed for a trademark with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) of the name “Huawei Pay” and of an accompanying logo.
According to a pdf at the EUIPO website that can be found in our Source link, the logo, and the name are referring to computer software and financial services, leading to the conclusion that
the service may indeed arrive in Europe, instead of Huawei just securing a patent to protect the name of its in-house wallet.
Huawei Pay is a limited service in China and works with a small list of banks but hopefully, this would change once its sets foot in the EU. For now, we can just hope the service is announced along with the Huawei Mate 10 that is bound to arrive on October 16.
