Intel has announced i9 CPU with 18 cores. It have many more core than its old version of i7. They announced two various types, one has 12 core and another has 18 core. The 12 core will be available after August 28. The model i9-7920X coming with 12 core.

The new chips also based on Skylake-X refresh. The diminished amount of L3. The other models will available on market after September 25. They also introduced 3 new models in i7 and one new model in i5. The all new models except i7-7740X and i5-7640X supports four channels DDR4-2666. But these two supports only two channels DDR4-2666. The L3 cache of i9-7980XE is very higher than the old version of i7.
The only one disadvantages of this new models is it will give very huge performance, but it drink too much of energy. It uses 165 W power.
The price of the i9-7980XE is $1,999.
