Google's next Pixels aren't the only products expected to be introduced at its October 4 event that have leaked today. In fact, we're also treated to images and a few details regarding the Google Home Mini and the Daydream View 2017.
The Google Home Mini is exactly what its name implies - a smart speaker that's smaller than the Google Home that is turning one. It doesn't have a battery, so you'll need to keep it plugged in. Given its smaller size, expect the audio quality for music not to be in the same ballpark as what the full-size Home can provide.
Then again, the Home Mini will only cost $49, and it will still come with the Google Assistant built-in. That's a good value proposition undoubtedly. As you can see, the device will be launched in three colors: Chalk, Charcoal, and Coral. Because of how small it is, it's unlikely that any part of it will be swappable (like the Google
Google will also unleash a revamped 2017 edition of its Daydream View VR headset. While the improved model looks quite similar to its predecessor, upon close inspection it does seem to be made from a more rugged, less soft material. Hopefully this will withstand sweat better.
The bad news is that the new generation Daydream View will be priced at $99, which is $20 more than the first iteration. It will come in three color versions: Charcoal, Fog, and Coral.
