Back in April, an announcement revealed that the Moto X Pure Edition will get the Android Nougat. But owners of the phone that has the Moto X Style moniker elsewhere in the world had to wait five more months for the actual upgrade to arrive. Now tweets and tips from Moto X Pure owners reveal that the phone is finally getting its Nougat serving.
Moto X Pure Edition with Android 7.0 Nougat
The update brings the 7.0 version of Android along with a September 1, 2017, security patch. We don’t know if the phone will get 7.1.1 in the near future, but with that tempo, you may be sure that Oreo is probably out of the question for the X Pure.
Android Nougat brings revamped notification system, split-screen multitasking, quick switching between apps, Doze on the Go for better battery life, Data Saver, custom quick settings, a quick settings bar, and new emoji.
Here’s a quick rundown of the phone - it was announced in the second half of 2015 with Snapdragon 808 and 3 GB RAM. It was Motorola’s best Android smartphone by that time because of its attractive looks, superb 21 MP f/2.0 camera and impressive €260 price tag.
