Huawei’s Honor V10 reportedly set for a December 5 debut

Most of Huawei's attention might be on the AI-focused Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro, but it appears that the manufacturer, which stands as the top smartphone maker in China, will unveil the Honor V10 next month.

Set to be the next entry in Huawei's Honor-branded series, the Honor V10 looks to be the company's next full-screen handset. Unlike some of its higher-end contemporaries, which feature tall displays and differing aspect ratios, the Honor V10 will reportedly stick with a 5.99-inch 18:9 display with minimal bezels.

According to leaked documents spotted by GizChina, the Honor V10 sports Huawei's in-house Kirin 970 chipset, the same one found in the Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro. As such, we can assume that the Honor V10 will include some AI-focused features on the hardware and software fronts, though it will ultimately be up to Huawei as to what will be included and left out.

Elsewhere, the Honor V10 reportedly includes 6 GB of RAM and either 64 GB or 128 GB of native storage, with the back panel home to a 16 MP and 20 MP dual-camera system. Finally, the phone will run Huawei's EMUI 6.0 Android skin, which is based on Android 8.0 Oreo.

It certainly looks like Huawei is responding well to its competitors' full-screen smartphones, with the company equipped to tackle them at various price points. It remains to be seen whether the Honor V10 can stand out, but seeing how it packs flagship-level hardware under a cost-conscious brand, odds are that the phone will.
