A portion of Apple fans still believe in the company’s original stance – a 4” screen is as big as you’ll ever need. They are still clinging to the iPhone SE but that will soon turn 2-years old – right on time for an upgrade? Several reports say "yes".
The latest claims that the iPhone SE 2 will launch in the first three months of 2018, agreeing with the earlier rumors. The new phone is said to keep the 4” screen (or going up a tick to 4.2”) and use an older chipset – the A10 chipset of the iPhone 7 (still an improvement over the A9 in the original SE).
Besides the size, people seek out the SE for its price – it’s Apple’s cheapest phone. So older components are to be expected, the original SE itself was a mix of iPhone 6s and 5s components (e.g. 6s chipset, 5s TouchID). Don’t hold your breath
The new iPhone SE will reportedly be manufactured in India (which is one of its target markets), but will be sold worldwide. If this rumor pans out, it will mean Apple’s 2018 lineup will be its broadest yet with as many as three iPhone X-like devices and the new SE.
