Huawei releases Android Oreo Beta for seven more phones

Huawei announced its first Android Oreo upgrade plans back in October at the Mate 10 launch. It said the Mate 9 and P10 phones were next in line, but now we hear the rollout will be expanding to quite a few other phones.

The full list includes Huawei Mate 8, Huawei P9, Huawei P9 Plus, and four phones from its subsidiary - the Honor 8, Honor V8, Honor Note 8 and Honor 6X.

Android Oreo comes on Huawei phones with in-house EMUI 8.0. It brings Picture-in-Picture mode, polished notifications, Autofill API and some enhancements the user interface brings along. Users of the seven phones should get less stutter because of the AI prediction of user behavior and RAM optimization.

Currently, a beta version is hitting devices in China. Once all the details are cleared out, a stable release should hit global versions of the phones.
