Audiophiles that can’t afford a G or V-series phone may want to have a look at the new LG Q7 trio. It’s an upgrade on the LG Q6 with some serious audio credentials. The Q7 features Hi-Fi audio with DTS:X 3D Surround Sound, which can emulate 7.1 channela over headphones.
If you go for the LG Q7+ variant, you also get Quad DACs like a G7 or V30. And like them, there’s no 3.5 mm headphone jack, so you’ll have to use USB-C headphones (Quad DAC does nothing for Bluetooth headphones).

The Q7 trio offers durable metal bodies. They are MIL-STD-810G-compliant and IP68 waterproof. On the front sit 5.5” Full Vision LCDs with 1080p+ resolution (18:9, 2,160 x 1,080 px), tucked under 2.5D glass.
Above the screens the Q7 phones have a 5 MP super wide angle (100°) selfie camera so you can fit many friends in your selfies. Note that depending on region, you may get an 8 MP selfie cam with a narrower lens.
On the rear is a 16 MP main camera for the LG Q7+ model, while the Q7 and Q7α get 13 MP sensors.
All three models are powered by an unnamed chipset with an octa-core processor (1.8 GHz or 1.5 GHz). The Q7+ model has more memory – 4 GB / 64 GB – while the regular and α have 3 GB / 32 GB. All three
The battery has 3,000 mAh capacity and can be filled up to 50% in half an hour thanks to Qualcomm’s Fast Charge. This is done over USB-C, of course.
The LG Q7 trio will be available soon, pricing is yet to be unveiled.
