Google France is shutting down its Google+ page, as reported by Android Police. In a post published on the platform yesterday, Google said it would "close the doors" [translated] on its Google+ page this weekend, and suggested fans could instead follow it on Facebook and Twitter.

Google didn't reveal the reason behind the move, but a look at its recent activity reveals this wasn't exactly a surprise decision — Google hadn't posted on the account for 46 weeks prior to this latest announcement.

Google+'s market share has been declining for some years now and many articles have been written about its continued viability in the face of immense social media competition.
