The "Trexels" moniker is a portmanteau of "Trek" and "Pixels," since the art style of the game is very Super Nintendo-esque.

The trailer makes it clear that you can play as characters from all the popular series, including Captian Jean-Luc Picard, Admiral James T. Kirk, Vice Admiral Kathryn Janeway, Lt.-Commander Data, Benjamin Sisko, and even Commander Deanna Troi.

However, since Star Trek: Trexels 2 is a free-to-play game, it's unclear how many of those characters are locked behind paywalls. You'll have to play to find out.
