Oppo Realme 2 Pro is revealed by company CEO

Realme recently released the Realme 2 and its announcement concluded with the words “one more thing to surprise you, see you in September”, hinting at an arrival of a Pro version.

The first video teaser suggested a smaller notch and lack of a Diamond-pattern back panel, but today the company's CEO Madhav Sheth spoke to a YouTuber, revealing the phone’s look and its chipset.

The video begins with some flattering camera angles of the Realme 2 Pro, later strategically positioned in the center of the shot while a selfie is taken. During the intriguing interview where Mr Sheth reveals some info about the smartphone that sits right beside him. Later he picks it up and flaunts it in front of the camera.

Speaking about performance, the CEO said Realme 2 Pro will on run the Snapdragon 660 chipset, which will be a massive update over the Snapdragon 450 that powers the regular Realme 2.

The SD660 is a relatively dated platform, but at one point it was in the flagship models Oppo R15 and Oppo R11s. It has octa-core CPU at up to 2.2 GHz and supports resolutions up to Full HD+. Qualcomm also provided 4K video recording, Bluetooth 5, and up to 16 MP dual cameras with the Spectra 160 ISP.

It is way too early to think of prices and availability, but everything will be officially unveiled on September 26 & September 27. These are the dates for the Realme 2 Pro introduction and hopefully, it will go global, unlike its predecessors which now account for 1 million sales.
