This week contained a few quality leaks of some major devices and one major OS. We also saw a lot of the new Redmi Note 7, which went on sale and sold out in minutes. The phone got its innards exposed on video and was used by Xiaomi's President to smash two walnuts.
We also learned that the Redmi Note 7 is getting the Night Mode from the Mi Mix 3 and that it will be getting a Pro version powered by Snapdragon 675.
Xiaomi capped the week off by showing its future under-display fingerprint tech.
Leakland saw a blurry live photo of the Samsung Galaxy S10+ along with its dual in-display selfie cameras. We also ran across the upcoming flagship and its Snapdragon 855 chipset on Geekbench.
Allegedly HMD will bring out the much-anticipated Nokia 9 PureView with a penta cam before the MWC with a Snapdragon 845 and that there's a Snapdragon 855 version in the works. We also saw the alleged animations the Nokia 9 PureView will show upon being unlocked with the under-display fingerprint scanner.
Speaking of the MWC, Sony sent out its invite for the press event that will bring the official debut of the 21:9 tall aspect Xperia XZ4 be announced.
Oppo showcased a new camera with 10x optical zoom and its next-gen UD fingerprint scanner with a larger surface area.
The last big phone news of the week was the major leak of the Google Pixel 3 Lite. The phone starred in a detailed video review, which revealed its Snapdragon 670 chip with 4GB of RAM, 32GB of onboard storage and a 5.56-inch display, and most importantly the same (excellent) main camera as the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL.
Finally, we saw the first Android Q beta. It didn't reveal much about Android's future look but it did show us the new system-wide Dark Theme - every OS should have one. Anyway, it's not until Autumn that we'll get to see Android Q in full, so we'd better not get overly excited just yet.
The Amazon landing page shows the M-series design in detail and promises great battery life and solid chipset performance.
Comments from a Sony Mobile exec promised a much better camera experience, likely hinting at the big Xperia XZ4.
The brand manager says 100,000 units were sold in 8 minutes 36 seconds.
This will be the first time we see what this software is capable of with the huge 1/2" sensor with f/1.8 lens.
