The ZenFone Max Pro (M1) launched last year in April with Android 8.1 Oreo and the company promised at least two major OS updates for this phone.
During the launch of ZenFone Max Pro (M2) in India last December, Asus promised to roll out Android Pie for ZenFone Max Pro (M1) this February. Yet, instead of rolling out a stable build, the company has released a beta build. Hopefully testing will go smoothly and the final thing won't take too long to follow.
You can enroll in the beta program by following this link.
However, before you enroll in the beta program, do note that beta builds may contain bugs that could hamper the user experience. Furthermore, Asus says that it will not provide downgrade service for beta users unless they quit this program.
Asus recently shared a list of smartphones that would get the Android Pie update. You can head this way to see if your smartphone will get this latest version of Android.
