Samsung has confirmed it will delay the Galaxy Fold's release in China — originally scheduled for April 24. A Samsung spokesperson confirmed the postponement to CNBCthough a reason wasn't provided.

Samsung Galaxy Folds were recently sent to reviewers ahead of the phone's release, but some of these devices developed issues with the flexible display after only two days of use. The problems included the screen flashing and becoming

unusable, as well debris becoming lodged beneath the screen and poking through it.

It's possible that the delay in China is linked to the screen problems reported.

Samsung hasn't mentioned delays in other markets yet, but we've reached out for more information. Samsung is set to launch the Galaxy Fold in the U.S. on April 26.

Samsung previously said it was investigating the reported screen issues and warned users not to remove the screen protector that's fixed onto the flexible screen. At least two reviewers damaged the Fold's display by removing this.

Samsung did not say when the phone would now go on sale in China.
