The Samsung Galaxy Fit e has quietly gone official – it’s a smart band that costs €40, less than half the price of the Galaxy Fit (€100). Long story short, it has a built-in heart rate tracker, 5ATM water resistance and 6-7 days of battery life with frequent use (up to 13 day for casual use).
The band has a 0.74” monochrome OLED display. It shows the time and a step counter by default, but it can also display notifications and calendar events from your phone.

The Galaxy Fit e automatically detects activities – walking, running and dynamic training – and will sync data with Samsung Health on your phone. There’s also sleep tracking. Despite the water resistance, there are no swimming-related features.
The band is available for pre-order in multiple European stores (including local Samsung.com sub-sites). You can pick between Black, White and Yellow colors for the strap (the thing itself is always black).

For a quick comparison, the pricier Galaxy Fit has a larger 0.95” color OLED screen with about double the resolution. Battery life is similar, but the Fit e is slimmer and lighter.
