This week kicked off with one of the most exciting releases so far this year - the Redmi K20 Pro. It's the newly established sub-brand's first flagship phone. It immediately sparked a lot of interest among Android fans due to its low price and high-end specs and features.
Soon after its official debut in China, rumors started flying in that the Redmi K20 Pro will make it outside of the country under different names - likely branded as Mi 9T Pro and Poco F2 Pro in overseas markets.
The first Google Pixel 4 images surfaced even if there are several more months until the phone is released. But if the renders, courtesy of the company making the screen protectors are to be believed, the Pixel 4 will come with a punch-hole camera design accommodating not one but two sensors like the Galaxy S10+.
Speaking of early reports, the upcoming Galaxy Note10 was a subject of particularly interesting leaks this week as well. We've learned that it could come without a headphone jack and fully eliminate physical buttons, but the latter was disproved yesterday.
The removal of the headphone jack, on the other hand, will likely happen. We also had a pretty good look at the handset from the front and back thanks to the renders that surfaced.
Another phone that debuted this week was the Motorola Moto Z4 - an upper midranger with Snapdragon 675 and a 48MP main camera. Specs also include a 6.4-inch OLED panel, under-display fingerprint reader and 3,600 mAh battery. The phone looks slick, but pricing could be its own worst enemy.
The Huawei trade ban drama continues to unfold, as this week the Chinese tech giant got a breath of fresh air. The SD Association reinstated Huawei as a member meaning future devices can be licensed to use microSD cards. The Bluetooth and WiFi associations also brought Huawei back on board.
More importantly though, new information regarding Huawei's own operating system surfaced and will likely be called Ark OS. It's in talks with Aptoide to be the company's replacement of Google Play Store.
And finally, some news from the iOS camp - the upcoming iPhone XR successor will have new color schemes according to the leaked renders showing Gold, Gray, Black and Red in addition to the White, Yellow and Blue colors that leaked earlier. Some of them will likely be discontinued, however, to make room for the new ones.
Some leaked screenshots of the upcoming iOS 13 appeared showing the UI in Dark Mode. Newer iPhones with OLED screens will surely benefit as dark themes tend to draw less power on such devices. The leak reveals a couple more design revamps in other iOS apps and on iPad.
That was the TL;DR version of week 22 for those of you who didn't have enough time - you can get more details on each topic below.
A metaphorical vessel to save Huawei from the US flood? Too deep?
The punch-hole camera is in the middle of the screen, and there's just one selfie snapper on both models.
If recent rumors are correct, Samsung is going a different route than it has for the past few years.
Instead of colors like Yellow, Blue, Coral that the current XR offers, these renders show Black, Gray and Gold, similar to the XS color scheme.
