Android emoji – everything you need to know

Emoji seem to have taken over the world, with emoticons quickly becoming a dying tongue around the inter webs. And for good reason; these little icons offer a convenient and friendly way to express emotions. …

"For example, the emoji for 'police officer' is commonly shown as male and 'person getting haircut' is female, which can reinforce gender stereotypes," Google explained in its press release. "With this update, emoji with no gender specified will default to a gender ambiguous design on Android—but you can still choose between male and female presentations if want to opt into a gender."

Finally, the Mountain View company says it's also bringing 71 multi-skintoned couples to the latest set. All of these new additions and tweaked designs will officially be available in Android Q. Are there any other additions you'd make to this set? Let us know in the comments!
