Welcome to your recap of what was a truly exciting week in the mobile world.
The top story this week was the announcement of the Asus ROG Phone II, which is the first phone with a 120Hz OLED screen and the first to be powered by the new Snapdragon 855+ chipset. The ROG Phone II will launch in China next month and will become available globally in September.
The Samsung Galaxy Note10, as usual, garnered a lot of attention throughout the week. A couple of Galaxy Note10 and Galaxy Note10+ dummies were photographed side by side, giving us a glimpse of how Samsung's upcoming phones stack up.
If we go by a leak from this week the Galaxy Note10 will have a 6.3-inch FHD+ screen while the Galaxy Note10+ will come out with a 6.8-inch QHD+ one. Their respective batteries will be 3,500mAh and 4,300mAh.
In another leak, Evan Blass' sources claim the 6.3-inch Galaxy Note10 will have a 3,600mAh battery. Both devices will be powered by the Snapdragon 855+, alongside the Exynos 9825, and have 12GB of RAM.
The final Galaxy Note10+ story regards leaked Verizon promo material which confirms the design we've seen in the countless press materials thus far.
The other big Samsung story was that the Galaxy Fold will be ready to go on sale in September. Samsung reinforced the design so that the display issues would not reoccur. Meanwhile Huawei's CEO Richard Yu said that the Mate X' launch will have to wait - how long, we don't know.
In other news Apple and Intel struck a deal that would transfer Intel's modem business over to Apple for a cool $1 billion. This will clear the way towards an in-house 5G modem for the iPhone in 2020.
Coupled with reports that the 2019 iPhone's will retain the Lightning port and we're looking at a less-competitive iPhone 11 - no USB-C and no 5G.
The Huawei Mate 30 Lite and Mate 30 Pro were seen in the wild this week. If the recent leaks are to be believed, the Mate 30 Pro will retain the large notch and curved sides, while the Mate 30 Lite is all but revealed, thanks to the Chinese launch of its namesake nova 5i Pro - a 6.26-inch IPS LCD, quad camera, 7nm Kirin 810 and a 4,000mAh battery.

The new Kunai Gamepad turns the phone into something of an Android-powered Nintendo Switch.
The Galaxy Note10 will have a 6.3" 1080p screen, according to the latest rumors, while the Plus will be bigger with a 6.8" QHD screen.
