Well what do you know - another smartphone company is updating its smartphone with the latest Qualcomm chipset. Xiaomi just announced on Weibo the arrival of Black Shark 2 Pro on July 30 and the phone is pretty likely to come with Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset.

The launch announcement comes just two days after nubia’s message that it will update is Red Magic 3 gaming smartphone with Snapdragon 855 Plus in the future in a response to Asus’ launch of the ROG Phone 2 on
The difference between Snapdragon 855 Plus is slightly faster GPU - about 15%. The first CPU cluster is also overclocked from 2.84 GHz to 2.96 GHz, which in the grand scheme of numbers is just a 4% increase.
However, smartphone users in China and India are fans of higher theoretical numbers (compared with European and North American users who stick to practical usability of these specs); that’s why companies are pushing to update their gaming smartphone lineup with the latest available flagship chipset.
A tick in the right direction might also play a crucial role in mobile gaming. In some games, there is a massive difference if the game is running 60 fps or 30 fps and Asus, Xiaomi, nubia, etc., want to please these type of customers.
