OnePlus is now fully playing in the big leagues of the smartphone world, with the newly announced 8 Pro starting at $899. With that in mind, there's way less tolerance for faults for most people, so perhaps you'd be interested to find out how OnePlus' latest and greatest fared in the now traditional durability test created by Zack from the JerryRigEverything YouTube channel.
If so, then here's the video embedded for your viewing pleasure. Spoiler alert: there are no faults here, the phone performs exactly as expected - and as its high price deserves.
Quick TL:DW would be - the screen glass scratches at a level 6 on the Mohs scale, with deeper grooves at level 7. Par for the course for a glass screen, as you may know. The earpiece slit is plastic, the frame and buttons are metal, you can burn the screen with an open flame for about 30 seconds after which a white mark appears, while during the bend test the OnePlus 8 Pro does flex under pressure, but there are no cracks and there's no permanent damage either.
