Last week was full of announcements, rumors and other exciting stories. Let's sort through the most popular.
Motorola dropped the Edge+ and Edge with 'Endless Edge' waterfall OLED displays that run at 90Hz. The Edge does with a 64MP main camera, while the Edge+ has a top of the line 108MP snapper.
The Snapdragon 865-powered Motorola Edge+ is coming to Verizon on May 14, priced at $1,000. It will also hit global markets in May for €1,199. The Snapdragon 765G Motorola Edge will launch in Europe, Latin America and the Asia Pacific in May followed by the US later on, priced at €599.
The iPhone SE (2020) was spotted on AnTuTu and its score seemed to suggest its A13 Bionic chipset is underclocked compared to the iPhone 11 series. It yielded a result that's closer to an A12 Bionic-powered iPhone XS than the iPhone 11.
Meanwhile a teardown showed just how similar the iPhone SE (2020) is to the iPhone 8, even working when the motherboard of one was transplanted to the other. The affordable phone also finally went on sale in the first wave of 40 countries on Friday.
While on the topic of iPhones, a leaked schematic showed what the smaller notch on the iPhone 12 might look like. According to renowned Apple insider Min-Chi Kuo, the iPhone 12 will be delayed by at least 1 month, though.
Samsung revealed that it aims to deliver a sensor that can outdo the human eye's capabilities of perception. According to the Korean company it would need a 500MP to pull it off, but it actually aims for 600MP just to be on the safe side.
A pair of phones with 144Hz refresh screens launched last week. The vivo iQOO Neo3 packs a Snapdragon 865 and 44W charging for just $380, while the nubia Play 5G has a Snapdragon 765G and a 5,100mAh battery.
Those were the highlights of last week. See you next one!
Both phones will have "Endless Edge" screens, i.e. very curved OLED displays. Both have 90Hz refresh rate and an in-display fingerprint reader.
This is the most affordable phone with a 144Hz display on the market.
The analysts predicts that Apple will unveil the four new models simultaneously in September, but they will launch in stages.
It supports dual-mode 5G and comes with a total of six cameras - two on the front and four at the back.
The tablet is supposed to be unveiled alongside the Xiaomi Mi 10 Youth, so check back next week to see how much (if any) of this proved to be true.
