The unlocked OnePlus 8 series was originally listed as offering support for Verizon's LTE network bands. But Android Police reports that unlocked OnePlus 8 series users have had issues with phone calls and text messages.
It apparently turns out that OnePlus needs to submit more information to the carrier. It's believed OnePlus needs to supply Verizon with IMEI numbers of unlocked phones in order to white-list them for use on the network. So what does this mean for subscribers who want to use an unlocked device, then?

"Our OnePlus 8 series open market phones in North America will not be compatible with Verizon until June at the latest. The OnePlus 8 purchased through Verizon will be certified immediately," the company told Android Police in a statement.
Some Verizon subscribers on reddit have reported that their OnePlus 8 series device works fine if they had an older OnePlus device activated on the network. Otherwise, it seems like you're in for a bit of a wait if you want to use an unlocked OnePlus 8 series device on the carrier.
