Xiaomi unveiled its latest interface MIUI 12 alongside the Mi 10 Youth last month, but the event was for the Chinese audience. Now, the company will introduce its latest software to global fan - it begins at noon UTC and we’ve provided the YouTube stream below.
The improvements include plenty of new animations, better dark mode, new health app, and more sophisticated privacy controls. The visualizations include a transformation towards flat design, but Xiaomi kept some animations and introduced a new app launcher.
There are also some new live wallpapers, zooming in and out of a planet while unlocking the phone with the fingerprint scanner. Gesture navigation finally comes with Android 10 swipes, and Xiaomi has also adopted the quick reply feature.
The big question is which global devices will receive MIUI 12 and when. Hopefully, Xiaomi will shed some light on a rollout schedule, because we only know which devices are eligible for the Beta in China.
