Samsung Pay Card is now available in the UK, supports all major debit and credit cards

The Samsung Pay Card is now available to Samsung users in the UK. This is not a debit or credit card, in fact it isn’t a card at all – not a physical one, anyway, but a virtual shape-shifter card that lives in the Samsung Pay app.

It’s powered by Curve, whose technology allows you to add multiple Mastercard and Visa banking cards (even from banks that don’t support the Samsung Pay). When you reach the checkout, you can pick which of your cards you want to use.

And if you make a mistake and pick the wrong one, then the “Go Back in Time” feature lets you move the transaction to a different card. Also, the “Timeline View” gives a complete overview of all your payments across all of your cards.

Samsung Pay Card also offers currency conversion at mid-market rates when traveling abroad. Since this service is backed by Mastercard, it should be accepted just about anywhere. And you will get 5% cashback when buying stuff from Samsung.com (valid until the end of this year).

Finally, the introduction of the Card is good news for Samsung owners who previously couldn’t use Samsung Pay because their bank doesn’t support it – Curve’s platform works with all major credit and debit cards in the UK (both Mastercard and Visa).

Note that you can use the Card with your Samsung smartwatch as well as a phone. In both cases, your money is protected by Samsung Knox.
