The ZTE Axon 20 5G will be unveiled later today, September 1, but you can have a peek at the phone right now – check out the video below to see it in action. Of course, the unique feature of this phone is the one you can’t see, the first under-screen selfie camera on a mass produced phone.
The video shows both a white background as well as moving images and there are no visible artifacts – no dimmer area, no place where the animation looks funky. ZTE talked about how the screen and camera work to achieve this seamless integration and included a camera sample to show off the image quality (which was the key issue with under-screen cameras).
The screen will be a large 6.92” OLED panel (1080p+ resolution) while the camera hidden behind it will feature a 32 MP sensor. Also tucked under the screen is a fingerprint reader.
The rest of the specs are already known thanks to several leaks. Long story short, expect a Snapdragon 765G chipset, 12/256 GB memory and 4,120 mAh battery with fast charging. As for the cameras on the rear, they are in a 64 + 8 + 2 + 2 MP configuration.
