Xiaomi's Mi Band 4 debuted last year but it's only now that Xiaomi is launching the NFC-enabled version outside of China. It's not a proper global launch, but two more European countries - Belarus and Ukraine are following Russia, which got it in June.
Xiaomi has collaborated with Mastercard to enable contactless payments using the NFC chip so a number of Belarusian and Ukrainian banks now offer the service. You
still have to be a Mastercard holder, though.
There's no word on when and if the Mi Band 4 NFC will make it outside those countries but the Mastercard partnership clearly points towards a broader European launch. Hopefully the Mi Band 5 NFC will also be a part of that, instead of leaving its predecessor to take all the glory.
