TCL unveils TABMAX and TABMID tablets alongside smartwatch and TWS earphones

IFA Berlin 2020 is officially underway and TCL kicked off the festivities with two tablets, a pair of TWS earphones and a senior citizen-focused smartwatch. The tablets come with the company’s NXTVISION display technology, midrange specs and affordable prices. The TWS earphones offer noise-canceling for calls while the smartwatch comes with all the standard tracking features as well as independent 4G connectivity.

TCL TABMAX

The TCL TABMAX is the more premium slate - it's built around a 10.36-inch FHD+ LCD with slim bezels, and sports an 8MP selfie cam and dual speakers. It also brings support for TCL’s Stylus and an optional type cover. Around the back, we find a single 13MP primary camera with an LED flash while the bottom houses the Type-C port.

There’s an 8,000 mAh battery that should deliver all-day usage. On the software front, we have TCL UI on top of Android 10.

The TABMAX will be available in 4G and Wi-Fi only trims beginning of Q4 for select markets. Pricing starts at €249 and €299 depending on which version you pick.

TCL TABMID

As the name suggests, the TCL TABMID is a midrange tablet aimed for multimedia consumption. It features an 8-inch FHD LCD with TCL’s NXTVISION tech and large top and chin bezels. There's a 5MP front-facing camera and an 8MP rear shooter. It features a plastic build and weighs in at 325 grams.

Under the hood, we have the Snapdragon 665 while the battery comes in at 5,550 mAh.

On the software side it's the same TCL UI on top of Android 10 and there’s also a Kids Mode with a child-friendly UI and added parental controls.

The TABMID comes with 4G and Wi-Fi connectivity and will be available in select markets starting Q4 this year. Pricing starts at $270/€230.

TCL MOVETIME Family Watch

TCL has been making smartwatches for some time now, but its latest offering is oriented towards senior citizens. The MOVETIME Family Watch comes with a 41 x 48.5mm AMOLED display, standalone 4G connectivity and an optimized UI with larger icons, watch faces and graphics for seniors.

There’s also fall detection, a designated SOS button and heart rate monitor as well as IP67 water and dust resistance. The watch can also track all the standard array of physical activities as well as sleep cycles, duration and efficiency.

It will be available in North America and Europe later this fall for $270/€230.

TCL MOVEAUDIO S200 TWS

As TWS earphones are becoming more common, TCL is offering its latest entry with the MOVEAUDIO S200. The headset offers a traditional design with tips that rest inside your ear and a stem housing the microphones.

They offer electronic noise canceling (ENC) to reduce background noise during calls and come with native voice assistant compatible with Google Assistant or Siri.

The S200 are also IP54-rated and connect over Bluetooth 5.0 with dual-Bluetooth transmission for low latency.

Combined battery life with the carrying case is rated at 23 hours while the earphones alone offer up to 3.5 hours of playback.

They will be available globally later this month for $120/€99 in black, white and blue colors.
