According to a new DigiTimes report, Apple’s upcoming AirPods Pro 2 will launch in the first half of 2021. The new information comes from unnamed industry sources who specify Taiwan-based Windbound Corporation as the main supplier of NOR flash memory for the new AirPods Pro.
Past reports have claimed Apple will change up the design of the AirPods Pro to a more compact round form factor possibly eliminating the stem. It will be interesting to see how this design turns out in terms of ergonomics and staying in users' ears without falling off. Apple is also expected to debut a new W2 in-house chip with the new AirPods Pro.
Speculated AirPods Pro 2 designWe’ve already seen leaks of the alleged AirPods Pro 2 system in package (SiP) board which shows a more compact design in two sizes perhaps indicating a smaller and larger version AirPods Pro.
