Telegram’s latest update lets you import chat history from other apps

Telegram v7.4.0 is now making its way to users across Android and iOS and it brings the option to migrate chat history from other messaging apps like WhatsApp, Line and KakaoTalk. This move comes after WhatsApp’s controversial privacy policy change to share user data with Facebook which led millions of users to jump ship and switch to other platforms like Telegram. The new chat transfer feature works for both individual and group chats.

Other additions in Telegram v7.4.0 include more chat deletion options with options to remove chats and calls for both sides as well as delete groups for all participating members. Voice Chats now get the ability to adjust volume levels individually for all participants and you can also fast forward and rewind music playback speed within the built-in audio player.

Other Android-specific additions include new animations and greeting stickers. There’s also the option to report fake channels and groups that are impersonating celebrities or organizations. There are also improvements for accessibility users with TalkBack and VoiceOver.
