Welcome to another week's recap. The biggest story of the week was Sony's triple announcement. The Japanese company unveiled the make III revisions of its Xperia 1, 5 and 10 smartphones, which will come to market in early summer.
The Xperia 1 III and 5 III both feature identical camera systems, which include three 12MP cameras with PDAF and OIS, covering the wide, ultrawide and telephoto range. The latter is a first of its kind with a variable focal length of 70mm and 105mm from a single sensor. That translates to around 2.9x to 4.4x zoom.
The Xperia 10 III is a compact device with a 6" OLED display, triple camera, IP68 water resistance, stereo speakers and a 4,500mAh battery.
TCL showed off the Fold 'n' Roll concept device - the first device that's both foldable and rollable. It starts off with a 6.87-inch screen, which can unfold to 8.85-inch and then unroll to 10.0-inches. It will take some time before we see an actual market-ready version of the Fold 'n' Roll, though.
TCL also added three new phones to its lineup - The TCL 20 Pro 5G, TCL 20L and TCL 20L+.
Samsung's Galaxy Quantum2 became official in Korea with QRNG (random number generator) security chip. It will come to the global stage as the Galaxy A82, which leaked in the wild this week.
Samsung teased that "the most powerful Galaxy" will be unveiled at an Unpacked event on April 28. A subsequent leak revealed that the event will most star Samsung's new Galaxy Book Pro and Galaxy Book Pro 360 Windows laptops.
Apple will host an event next week, on April 20. It's widely expected that we'll see new iPad Pro's - and 11-inch and 12.9-inch model - at least one of which (likely the bigger one) will have a mini-LED display.
