Another week is over and done, so let's recap. The iPhone will finally get an Always-on Display, per Mark Gurman. Per his information, the LTPO AMOLED-equipped iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max models will gain the feature. It would be interesting to see if the 13 Pro series get AoD retrofitted.
Honor announced the 70 series with three phones - the Honor 70, the Honor 70 Pro and 70 Pro+. The Pro+ has a Dimensity 9000 chipset, a 6.78-inch OLED 120Hz screen, a Sony IMX800 54MP main camera, and a 4,500mAh battery with 100W fast charging. The Honor 70 Pro has the same screen, battery and charging, and cameras, but uses a Dimensity 8000. The Honor 70 packs a 6.67-inch 120Hz AMOLED, a Snapdragon 778G, 54MP main camera, 50MP ultrawide, and a 4,800mAh battery with 66W charging.
The Honor 70 Pro+ with 8GB of RAM and 256GB storage is on pre-order in China at CNY 4,300 ($645/€600/₹50,000). The 70 Pro starts at CNY 3,700 ($555/€515/₹43,000) and it has 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The 70 Pro ships on June 10, while the Pro+ on June 16.
The Honor announcement also saw the details of the Sony IMX800 revealed. It's smaller than rumored at 1/1.49" with a 54MP nominal resolution and 4-in-1 pixel binning.
Finally, the Xiaomi 12 Ultra leaked, showing the iconic red Leica logo. It would be the first phone, outside of the Leica Leitz 1 phone, to have the loco and not just the Leica name. Xiaomi announced its partnership with Leica in May and teased that the first device from the joint effort would arrive in July. We hope it's the 12 Ultra, though it could also be the 12S.
Those were the key points, while the full list of hot stories is below. See you next week!
iOS 16 should also improve Apple Health, messages and bring lock screen wallpapers with widget-like functionality.
