Honor led the way in foldable smartphone shipments in China for the July – September period according to the latest Omdia report. Honor climbed to an impressive 28% market share during the Q3 period, surpassing Huawei which came in second with a 26% slice of the Chinese foldable market.

Honor Magic V2 was the key driver earning a 25% market share alone while total shipments of Honor foldables for the period numbered 1.7 million units. Omdia estimates that Honor has now shipped over 800,000 units of

Samsung (19%) and Oppo (11%) rounded out the top four brands by foldable market share while vivo (10%), Xiaomi (5%) and Motorola (1%) made up the remaining positions in the top 7 list. Honor is also rumored to launch a flip-style folding phone in Q1, 2024 which if coupled with an attractive starting price could further extend the brand’s reign atop the foldable phone segment in China.
