We’re expecting to see Huawei’s nova 8 series on December 23 in China and after several leaks comes our first look at the vanilla nova 8 from what appears to be a Huawei store in China. The images give us a detailed look of the phone from all sides and also confirm the previously leaked specs including the 6.57-inch curved screen, Kirin 985 chipset and 66W charging.
The phone features a centered punch-hole cutout and a 90Hz refresh rate. The selfie cam comes in at 32MP while the back houses an oval camera island with a 64MP f/1.9 primary sensor alongside an 8MP ultrawide and two 2MP modules for macro shots and depth data.
We even get the official dimensions of the phone which come in at 160.1 x 74.1 x 76.4mm. The handset weighs 169 grams.
The about section of the device also reveals a 3,700 mAh battery with 66W fast charging and EMUI 11 on top of Android 10. The nova 8 will come in 8/128GB and 8/256GB trims in gradient, purple, green and black colors. Retail in China is said to start at CNY 3,000 ($459) though we’ll have to wait for the December 23 announcement for official pricing and availability details.
